I. |
You are a judge of the world. You are ultimately accountable for
how you live. Obey only your own best judgment. Do what others (even your G-d) would have you do only when it
seems to you, after careful examination and study, that it is the best choice. |
II. |
Accept nothing and nobody
at face value. Judge even your G-d and your self and your canon of judgment itself according to your
best lights. Don't follow the leader: follow the audit trail. |
III. |
Do not misuse speech, for it is what enables you to justly evaluate all
things. (Speech is also an inexhaustable, non-polluting pleasure in living.) |
IV. |
Do not waste your time.
Each day may be your last day. |
V. |
Honor all persons who are helpful to and share wisdom with you.
Help the rest become wiser and more helpful, and thus more
worthy of your respect. |
VI. |
Do not kill others' bodies or kill their spirits either. |
VII. |
Find a spouse whom you desire so much
that you have no interest in your neighbor's spouse. Help your neighbor
find such a spouse so they can keep this commandment too. |
VIII. |
Do not steal others' property or their time or their
prospects in life. |
IX. |
Do not give false testimony or mislead others or hide from them
knowledge which might help them (unless they would use it to harm you or others). |
X. |
If you have your own goods, delight in and
savor ever more deeply what you have
so you will have neither time nor reason to covet your neighbor's goods. Help your neighbor have such good
things in their life so they can keep this commandment too. |
