Pope Francis seems to be a man of sincere humanity and warmth who is being pressured by small-minded individuals with partisan agendas and power, or, to put it bluntly: the old man should keep in his place.
For one area this is with the current humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Ukraine. The pope is trying to stand up for all humanity but many are pressuring him to take a partisan stand supporting the Zelensky side of the conflict.
Pope Francis may "have some skeletons in his closet" (who doesn't that has ever tried to do anything?) but he seems to be trying to do right by both his flock of believers and also the latrger flock of all sentient creatures. He says he is asinner; what are all his detractors?
I (who am surely some kind of heretic) think Pope Francis is a blessing to humanity, and that all the people who are trying to get their pound of flesh out of him are not helping him help us all, including them.
